Has Been (Present Perfect Continuous)
Used for an action that started in the past and is still continuing now, or has just finished. The subject is singular (He, She, It, or a singular name).
She has been working here since 2010.
ඇය 2010 සිට මෙහි වැඩ කරගෙන යනවා.
(She has been working here since 2010.)
It has been raining all day.
දවස පුරාම වැස්ස වැටුනා.
(It has been raining all day.)
The child has been sleeping for three hours.
ළමයා ගේ නින්ද පැයක් තුනක් ගතවෙලා.
(The child has been sleeping for three hours.)
He has been studying English.
ඔහු ඉංග්රීසි ඉගෙන ගනිමින් ඉදලා තියෙනවා .
(He has been studying English.)
The movie has been running for a month.
චිත්රපටය මාසයක් තිස්සේ දුවලා තියනවා .
(The movie has been running for a month.)
Have Been (Present Perfect Continuous)
Used for an action that started in the past and is still continuing now, or has just finished. The subject is plural (I, You, We, They).
I have been waiting for you for an hour.
මම පැයක් තිස්සේ ඔයව බලාගෙන හිටියා.
(I have been waiting for you for an hour.)
We have been living in Kandy for years.
අපි අවුරුදු ගණනක් තිස්සේ මහනුවර ජීවත් වෙලා තියෙනවා .
(We have been living in Kandy for years.)
They have been playing cricket since morning.
ඒගොල්ලෝ උදේ සිට ක්රිකට් ගහමින් ඉදලා තියනවා .
(They have been playing cricket since morning.)
You have been talking too much.
ඔයා ගොඩක් කතාකරමින් ඉදලා තියනවා .
(You have been talking too much.)
The students have been preparing for the exam.

Had Been (Past Perfect Continuous)
Used for an action that was ongoing for a time in the past before another past action happened.
I had been sleeping when the phone rang.
දුරකථනය නාද වන විට මට නින්ද ගිහිල්ලා තිබුණා .
(I had been sleeping when the phone rang.)
They had been working there for ten years before they quit.
ඒක අතහරින්නට කලින් ඒගොල්ලෝ අවුරුදු දහයක් තිස්සේ එහි වැඩ කරලා තිබුණා .
(They had been working there for ten years before they quit.)
The road was wet because it had been raining.
වැස්ස වැටුන නිසා මාර්ගය තෙත් වුනා.
(The road was wet because it had been raining.)
She was tired because she had been running.

Will Have Been (Future Perfect Continuous)
Used for an action that will have been ongoing for a period of time up to a specific point in the future.
By next month, I will have been working here for five years.
ලබන මාසය වන විට මම මෙහි වැඩ කරලා තියනවා වසර පහක්.
(By next month, I will have been working here for five years.)
In December, they will have been living in that house for a decade.
දෙසැම්බර් මාසයේදී ඒගොල්ලෝ ඒ ගෙදර ජීවත් වෙලා වසර දහයක් වෙලා තියෙනවා .
